Vicente Castello

Born in Valencia in 1986, Vicente Castelló began studying the oboe with Fermin Clemente at the School of Music of Tavernes de la Valldigna at the age of eight. In 1999 he continued his musical education at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Cullera, taking lessons with Jesús Garrigues. At the age of 19 he began his BMus studies in the Royal Conservatory Superior of Music of Madrid with Cayetano Castaño, principal oboe of the Symphony Orchestra of Madrid, graduating with the highest qualifications.

He had performed in Masterclasses for the professors José Manuel Gonzalez (Royal Symphony Orchestra of Sevilla), Christoph Hartmann (Berlin Philharmonic), Dudu Carmel (Israel Philharmonic Orchestra), Alex Klein (Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Stephan Rancourt (The Hale Symphony Orchestra of Manchester), Nigel Shore (Komische Opera Berlin), Maurice Bourgue (Conservatoire de musique de Geneve) and Emanuel Abbuhl (London Symphony Orchestra).

He had been member of different youth orchestras around Europe, including the Academy-Symphony Orchestra of Madrid and the Spanish National Youth Orchestra, the  Festival Ensemble Stuttgart, Schleswig-Holstein Festival Akademie and the European Union Youth Orchestra, working with conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, Lutz Köhler, Christoph Eschenbach, Iván Fischer, Helmuth Rilling, Edmon Colomer, Peter Rundel, Vladimir Ashkenazy and George Pehlivanian.

At the moment Vicente Castelló continues his education at the Royal Academy of Music of London with professor Celia Nicklin, assisted financially by the Fishmonger’s Award and the ‘Institut Valencià de la Música’.
