LIBOR NOVACEK - Piano

Born in Prague in 1979 into a musical family, Libor Novacek studied at the Teplice Conservatoire A top prize-winner at numerous international competitions including 4th Prize at the 2006. AXA Dublin International Piano Competition, in September 2005, Libor won the Landor Records Competition, leading to a long-term recording relationship with Landor, an artist-led company. His first CD of music by Janacek, Martinu, Ravel and Debussy has been released to critical acclaim and a second CD of music by Liszt is due for release in October.

Since 1994 Libor has performed as soloist and with orchestras have taken him to the USA, Mexico, South America, Spain, France and Germany. He has appeared regularly with the Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra and performed concertos with the Prague Chamber Orchestra, Prague Chamber Philharmonie, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonie, Sudwestfaelische Symphony Orchestra, Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra and English Sinfonia.

During the 2006/07 season Libor returns to the Wigmore Hall (26 March), gives recitals in Paris, Prague and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival and appears with the Wihan Quartet. He continues to give recitals throughout the UK, and records a third CD for Landor Records.
